The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Friday, February 25, 2005, of Marie Aitken, of Brophy Avenue, Summerside, aged 75 years. Born at St. John, N.B., she was the daughter of the late Art and Anne (Arsenault) Bernard.

Survived by her children Bob (Michele LeClair), Charlottetown; Betty Mae (Wally) Williams, Summerside; Joan Kilbride, Summerside; Don (Kathy), Milton; Blair (Teresa), Summerville; son-in-law Eric McKinnon, Miscouche; daughter-in-law Shirley Aitken, Milton; by 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; sisters Lillian Bushby, British Columbia; Eileen Rooney, Summerside; half-sister Laurie Bernard and half-brothers Roy and Kier Bernard.

Predeceased by her husband Clifford Aitken; daughter Marsha MacKinnon; sisters Nora Bernard, Yvonne Bernard and Rita Maynard.

Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Monday, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside, for funeral mass at 2:00 p.m. Interment will later take place in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
