Vriends … The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Sunday, June 13, 2010, of Josina Vriends, of Jillian Street, Summerside, aged 82 years. Born in Made, Netherlands, she was the daughter of the late Egidius and Petronella (van Akermans) Pals. Survived by her children Nella Hay, Medicine Hat, AB; Chris (Myra), Summerside; Wilhelmina (Ken) Patzer, St. George, MB; John (Karen), Kinkora; Mary Anne (Kevin) Fitzpatrick, Summerside; Patricia (Jack) Walsh, Moncton, NB; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Cor van Ginneken and brother-in-law Arnold (Bertha) Vriends of the Netherlands. Predeceased by her husband John Vriends; sister Maria (Theo) van der Vegt and sister-in-law Antonia (Peter) Goeseels. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, where a private family funeral service will be held on Tuesday. Interment in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Summerside. No visiting hours by personal request. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
