Oatway - The death occurred peacefully, surrounded by his loving
family and friends, at the Palliative Care Unit of the Prince County
Hospital, Summerside, on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, of Frank Oatway,
of Summerside, aged 83 years. Born and raised in Borden-Carleton, he
was the son of the late Norman and Mary A. (McFaden) Oatway. Frank
left the Island when he joined the Air Force and moved to Ottawa, ON
where he met the love of his life. Together they experienced a full
life with postings overseas and in Ottawa. Survived by his wife Nona
(Young) Oatway; children Mike Oatway, Constance Bay, ON; Brenda Oatway
(Grant Bird), Ottawa, ON; Diane Wood, Hamilton, ON; daughters-in-law
Cathy Knapman, Cornwall, ON; Tanya Dennee, Woodlawn, ON;
grandchildren Breane, Bryden and Cody Oatway; Grace and Jessie Routh;
brother Wendal (Marg) Oatway; and numerous other extended family.
Predeceased by his grandson Michael Oatway Jr. “Mikey”
with whom we trust he will be reunited; and by brothers Ed and Al
Oatway. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, where funeral
service will be held Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Searletown
Cemetery, Searletown. Visiting hours Tuesday from 12:00 noon until the
time of the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the
International Children’s Memorial Place would be appreciated.
