Gallant - The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Tuesday, April 15, 2014, of Antoine Jr. "Buckwheat" Gallant, of Summerside, aged 78 years.  Born in Summerside, he was the son of the late Antoine Sr. "Biscuits" and Evelyn (Perry) Gallant.  Survived by his common-law partner Joan  Burch; children David, Karen (John) Bernard, John (Nancy MacDonald), Stephen (Heather Osborne), Nancy (Eldon) Richard, Tracy (Joe Rogers); their mother Dorothy Gallant; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers Billy, Edward (Gladys), David (Judy), Harry (Sharon Matthews); sisters Sybil Keough, Daphne (Ron) Doucette, Tina (Frank) Muphy; his aunt Dolly Stumpt; and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his daughter Debbie Loignon; son James Robert in infancy; grandson Curtis Gallant; brothers Emmett, Leslie, Amos and Neil Gallant; and by brother-in-law Joe Keough. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, where funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Interment later in St. Paul's Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours Thursday from 6-9 p.m. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or to a Charity of your Choice would be appreciated.
