MacLean - It is with broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Stuart MacLean, age 58, at home in Upper Stewiacke, N.S. on October 5, 2021, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Formerly from Lot 16, he was the son of Dorothy (Monkley) MacLean and the late Willis S. MacLean. Survived by his wife Lynette; daughter and best friend Laken (Travis Lively); stepsons Nicholas and Tyler; a brother Bruce (Kathryn); nephews Alex (Melissa, Deacon and Charlie) and Matthew (Melissa); he was also loved dearly by his in-law Graham family; Shirley, Trent (Cheryl), Darcy (Cassie), Colleen (Mike) as well as many nieces and nephews.

Stuart was employed in his early years with Big Wheels until they relocated him to Nova Scotia. He then went to work at King Freight and spent the last 25 years of his career at Coast Tire in Truro.

When Stu wasn't working, he enjoyed hanging out at the rink, four-wheeling to the lake, watching Nascar racing, playing crib, and reminiscing about his adventures on the ice roads. He also loved spending time with his family, especially with his pride and joy, Laken. He will be missed everyday by everyone who had the privilege to be in his life.

A special thanks to Dr. Courtney Smith, Dawn, and the VON nurses for helping Stuart's final months to be peaceful and in comfort.

A Celebration of Life was held on October 10, 2021 at 291 Upper Pembroke Rd, Upper Stewiacke.  Burial took place at the Eastville Cemetery.
